A feeling of sorrow or remorse for a fault, act, loss or disappointment
How do we learn from losses or disappointments without feeling regret? How do we skip blaming and move right into growing? Regret can be the poison that keeps you from moving forward. It clouds you from seeing thru the loss/disappointment; and if we can’t see thru to the other side (no matter how small that window), we can’t get to it. We become paralyzed.
I believe EVERY challenging situation has a positive. The key is to finding/seeing it. Sometimes this means finding an unlikely source/ally to help you lay out the facts and let you see what you couldn’t thru the oncoming cloud. They can help you see it doesn’t have to be regret; it can be a moment, an experience that makes you who you are. Shows you strengths you didn’t know or had forgotten that you had. Take the time step back and look for someone to keep you going in the direction you are destined to be.
“When one door closes another door opens; but we often look so long and regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us”
Alexander Graham Bell US (Scottish born) inventor (1845-1922)
