Apparently I have been spending too much time on the current Star Trek spinoff marathon as I am thinking 2013 “Prime Directive” as an alternative to 2013 “Resolution (s)”. The question I struggle with is how it will differ from my 2012 “Prime Directive”? A change is definitely in order, for the obvious reason as well as, they tell me change can be good, (I lied in my interview so I’m sometimes slower to admit this).
As Star Trek’s fairly simple “Prime Directive” of “do not interfere”, I think I am leaning towards “Live Well”. Though some may say, that should be everyone’s, maybe, but for me it’s easier said than done. I do have a tendency to get so caught up in the details of my days, which then turn to weeks, then months and then well, the year is approaching the end and I look back and see where I could have done things differently. I don’t want that for 2013, I want to “Live Well”, and to me this is defined as…..
Being present in EVERY moment; whether it’s work or play, making time for ME to really run that 5k, which may lead to more 5k’s, ½ marathons, etc.., CHOOSING to be the BEST for my girls EVERDAY as well as being the person they will WANT to emulate, and dare I say, start taking care of the things I thought I would have accomplished by this point in my life.
Challenging? Yes. Life changing? Most definitely. And I know it will be so worth any struggles or obstacles. 2013 is going to be a “great YEAR to be Cari”. I WILL “Live Well”. I WILL come into my own.
“You’re alive. Do something. The directive in life, the moral imperative was so uncomplicated. It could be expressed in single words, not complete sentences. It sounded like this: Look. Listen. Choose. Act.”
