Reflect: To think, ponder, meditate; to form an image of (something) by reflection
Project: To show, or express
I had decided that I definitely need to work on the PROJECTION of me. During the last few months of the year, I witnessed behaviors in other people that I have been guilty of as well; these were not good behaviors. On more than one occasion, I was stopped in my tracks as the light bulb became a spotlight and I witnessed how I was projecting MYSELF when I acted in these ways… eye opening, to say the least.
While reflecting on the “normal” New Year’s faire, take some time to look at how you are projecting yourself. Are you seen as impatient? Are you “present” with people, or distracted? How’s your tone of voice when speaking; especially around those you love the most? These are all fairly simple traits to change-accept the challenge! Your patience may help prevent someone else from feeling overwhelmed. By being “present” you are showing people how important they are to you. We sometimes forget to use our manners around those we love most because we take their forgiveness of this behavior for granted; however, these are the MOST important ones we should have manners for!
Think of yourself with a little spotlight over you as you go thru your day. Do people see the person you see yourself as? It may take a few try’s to BE that person, but don’t give up! It will become habit, and then you will be PROJECTING the real YOU to the world! As a bonus, the changes you bring to yourself will have a ripple effect on those around you (Liberty Mutual ads get it!).
Let people SEE you!!
