I think “Today” is taken for granted; we all know we get another in 24hrs. We spend too much time looking at yesterday and relying on tomorrow. With yesterday we look at everything that we saw as being wrong or not going our way. I am not referring to reflecting on yesterday to make TODAY better and to learn. I am referring to the non-productive venting and complaining of what is wrong with our lives without the inclination to STOP complaining and make productive decisions to get a happy life. Tomorrow is relied on for “when it gets better”. Again not DECIDING to make a happy life, and acting accordingly, just thinking that it will happen, after all its TOMORROW.
TODAY should be looked on as our opportunity to be happy, and to make a difference in our own lives as well as others. We should protect TODAY, and not waste it. Be PRESENT. Be ATTENTIVE of the people and the tasks within your day; this will multiply the chance of success. By taking TIME for TODAY and giving it the attention and energy it deserves we can avoid repeating the mistakes of yesterday and take action for our happy tomorrows.
“Look not mournfully into the past. It comes not back again. Wisely improve the present. It is thine. Go forth to meet the shadowy future without fear”
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, US poet (1807-1882).
